ENGINEERING DIRECTOR
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Director with substantial experience in the Nuclear Industry. The role will involve engineering management and responsibility of a number of projects several of which will be at the very cutting edge of technology in their respective fields.
Duties & Responsibilities:-
• Underwriting design approval across a portfolio of high-value engineering projects.
• Supply of knowledge and expertise through manpower and skills to enable designs to be approved and accepted.
• Overcoming challenges to ensure delivery of engineering projects.
• Management of Engineering Personnel (Civil, Construction and Design) of various disciplines (Mechanical, C&I, Electrical, Civil, Building Services, Process etc)
Required Skills & Experience:-
• Strategic thinking, someone who can see the "bigger picture" and plan ahead and pre-empt obstacles and challenges.
• First class engineering skills with a proven track record of design engineering for complex projects.
• Excellent man-management skills with the ability to get the very best out people and remain delivery focused.
• An advanced understanding, appreciation and implementation of HSE procedures and protocol.
• Experience of Construction Engineering Management.
• Experience of managing and delivering the engineering element of complex engineering projects within a secure and highly regulated environment.
• Several years of experience of working in the Nuclear industry and familiarity with working to and satisfying the NII (Nuclear Installations Inspectorate) guidelines and regulations.
• Experience of nuclear engineering projects and issues surrounding containment, waste and encapsulation and reinforced concrete (RC).
• Board level presentation skills.
Qualifications:-
• BEng Degree in an Engineering Discipline. Higher Degree such as MEng preferable
• Ideally Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
